Highlands and Islands Skye – HISkye – is a web page set up by Ronald MacDonald to facilitate blogging and the independent publishing of papers written by Ronald and others on topics relating to the Highlands and Islands and Skye and beyond. These papers are likely to cover topics relating to the ongoing redesign of Health Care in the Highland area, issues connected with Tourism and infrastructure and more widely the economy of HISkye. Ronald is a professional economist and holds the Chair of Macroeconomics and International Finance at the Adam Smith Business School, Glasgow University, and is consistently ranked in the top 1 per cent of economists in the world. He has published widely – 16 books and over 159 referred journal articles – and has had extensive consultancy experience over the years for a wide range of organisations, such as the European Commission, the Planning Authority of Quatar, the International Monetary Fund, The World Bank and the European Central Bank.
